About Us

InFashionBoutique was created by Theo, a retired European who, after travelling extensively in the USA and throughout Asia, fell in love with Nepal and its people. Theo now lives full-time in Kathmandu and Chobhar Village - a haven of peace and beauty - only 20 minutes from the capital. Prior to "retirement", Theo was in banking and finance in Paris, London and New York, but always managed to keep one foot in art and fashion! 

Clearly, Nepal is "Theo's Choice". Unlike countries such as China and India...where so many goods are machine made... off the production line...expert artisans/craftsmen in this country are here in great numbers to hand-make, hand-embroider quality clothing, accessories and other "handicrafts" Of these fine artisans, it is often said that "Nepalese have gold in their hands"

Having spent the greater part of his life in Paris, Theo was brought up in the capital of high fashion, style and elegance. In Nepal, Theo will of course continue to place the emphasis on good design, keeping up with current trends and western fashion. But here, Theo admits that in the confection of clothing, the bottom line in this country is "back to the basics", namely:

• Choosing the right materials, appropriate or adapted to western markets and to the western way of life (Ex: focussing as much as possible on using washable, easy care materials, etc.)
   
  
• Quality of sewing - an imperative - Using high quality zippers, etc.
    
• Careful, good and harmonious use of colour combinations, in short insisting on  using Complementary Colours.

These are among the main objectives of In Fashion Boutique, which Theo directs.
